Expanding the network

In the weekend, I met a few people and they were so kind to offer helps and advice regarding living in Toronto and the tips of getting a teaching job in Ontario.

Below are parts of the conversation:
=================================================
[telephone conversation]
N: K! (who is a vice principal of a secondary school) Please come to join us as there is a new guy who would like to get a teaching job in Toronto. Definitely you can give him a lot of advice.
[K arrived 1.5 hours later and told me very practical information about getting a teaching job in Ontario]

=================================================
T: Felix, are you free in the afternoon? You said you would like to have your hair cut, I can give you a ride to a nearby shopping mall for Chinese Canadians. When you are home, give me a call so that you can write down the phone no. of a driving instructor. My colleage recommended him to me.

=================================================

D: If you join our fellowship on Fri evening, you can meet our fellowship nanny who used to be an ESL (teaching English as a 2nd language) teacher. I think she could tell you how she got the job. Maybe she could take you home in the end of the fellowship as the couple live in an area close to where you live.

Great Time to remember

Be my guest!

H= host; F= felix
=======================================
F: i'd like to move out early next month as i don't want to be a burden to you especially when your house is going to be renovated next week

H: Chinese people are good at helping each other and taking care of new comers (especially from one's family) is our obligation. Therefore stay as long as you wish if you don't mind spending the nights at our basement. Don't move out in a hurry. Wait until you get a job. Then you can look for a room near your workplace.

=======================================
H: (on the phone) "stay where you are and I will be looking for you on my car right away"
F: (on the phone) "wai wai! damnit, the battery goes dead without power! "

F walked around the trail and looked for a payphone to call the H and he was picked up 45 minutes later at a gas station about 500 m away from the spot where he was supposed to meet the H.

雖然很累,我還是去了OCT(安大略省教師工會)查詢我的認證申請。
